The M5R2 transmissions were used by both Ford and Mazda in Broncos and F series pickup trucks starting in 1988 The M5R@ is a top loaded all aluminum 5 speed transmission with an integrated bell housing and shift tower. This transmission is a fully synchronized unit with all brass synchronizer rings in all gears. This transmission has a tapered front input shaft bearing that is 90mm OD. The M5R2 has a cast iron rear bearing retainer. Three rubber plugs are used on the shift tower. It is suggested that you inspect the 5th/reverse assembly for updates before ordering parts.

- The 2012-2016 DPS6 Powershift transmission was used in the 2012-2016 Ford Focus and 2011-2016 Ford Fiesta sedans. This transmission is the subject of a massive number of lawsuits alleging Ford lied in order to sell cars Ford knew had defective transmissions.[8]
