[updated October 7, 2020] AppsAnywhere is Sheridan's software distribution portal, providing all Sheridan students and employees with an easy way to access software. Software can be downloaded using most modern web browsers, including recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari.
Software from Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) are among the many apps you will be able to access to via AppsAnywhere. Specialized software for students in specific programs as well as software for employees with particular job functions can also be found here.
The VPN service is not available. My solution is to uninstall the Cisco ANyconnect, and delete folder Cisco ANyconnect under Program Data, and restart. Install again with the same version. Without removing previous folder it will not solve the issue. Some Cisco VPN service is unavailable use tunneling protocols without encryption for protecting the privacy of data. While VPNs often do provide bravery, an unencrypted protective covering network does not neatly in condition within the secure American state trusted arrangement.30.

Getting Started
- Follow the AppsAnywhere link and log-in with your Sheridan credentials.
- The first time you launch the AppsAnywhere web page you will have the option to step through a brief tutorial. Click the Get Started button to begin or you can click the Skip the tour link to view the apps that are available to you. The information in the tutorial is captured below for your reference.

AppsAnywhere tutorial: search - Following the tutorial, or if you chose to skip it, you will see the prompt as shown below. For first time use, click the button labelled, 'It's my first time using AppsAnywhere on this device. Let's go.'
- The AppsAnywhere client installer will begin downloading automatically to your device. Once the download is complete launch the installer and follow the steps as indicated. Click the Done button as shown in the snapshot below once the installation is complete.
- You will be prompted to allow the AppsAnywhere page to open. Click Allow.
- You will now see a listing of all the apps you can access. Note: you will not see all available software titles – only those that are available to you. If you have questions about the availability of software, contact the IT Service Desk.

FAQs
Does AppsAnywhere work offline?
No. You must have an active internet connection to access AppsAnywhere and download software. However, once you have downloaded the software to your device, in most cases, you will be able to use the software offline. See the More Info link associated with an individual software title and take note of any restrictions or dependencies.
How is software delivered through AppsAnywhere?
Cth 670 windows 10. It depends on the technical and/or licensing requirements of specific software. Software listed on AppsAnywhere can be delivered in a number of ways:
- downloaded directly from a Sheridan server
- redirected to a vendor's website for the software
- launched via VDI (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure)
- streamed via Cloudpaging*

When you move your mouse over an app's icon on the AppsAnywhere screen you will see how an app will be delivered. In the example below, moving your mouse over the Adobe Creative Cloud icon will reveal that you need to visit the Adobe website to get the software.
Why is some software missing from my AppsAnywhere page?
While many software applications are available for all Sheridan staff and students some titles are only made available for specific groups and/or individuals.
For example, some software may be only licensed for use in a specific program and/or course. As such, only those students enrolled and the faculty teaching those courses will be able to see that application when AppsAnywhere is launched.
Sometimes a student may not see an application while other students in their class can. In this case, it is possible that the student is not properly enrolled yet in our system.
It is also possible that a faculty member may not see an application because they are not teaching that specific course that term.

Why is some software listed as being unavailable to me?
There are a few different reasons why software may listed as unavailable when AppsAnywhere is launched. Each application is set up with different rules about how it can be accessed. Some examples are:
- Some titles are restricted by the user's hardware and/or operating systems (macOS/WIndows). If you are running Windows, for example, software specific to macOS will be listed as unavailable
- Licensing agreements can also impact the availability of some software. For example, some applications are not licensed for personal devices.
- When working offsite, some applications may require that you are connected to the Sheridan network using our VPN service Cisco Anyconnect. If an application requires you to be connected to the network there will be a note indicating that VPN is required on the App Details tab. It is recommended that you connect to VPN before opening AppsAnywhere (or refresh your AppsAnywhere browser page after connecting to VPN). Using 'More Info' to get App Details
- If an application is coming up as “Unavailable” users can find out why by clicking on “More Info”
- Information about the application is available at a quick glance:
- You can drag your mouse over the icons to quickly determine application requirements. For example, scrolling over the Mac and Windows icons tells us that this application is available on Windows but not available for Mac OS:
- By scrolling over the icons on the bottom row additional information is available. In the example below any device can be used for this application.
- More detailed information is available by using the “Delivery Methods” and “Restrictions” tab. When using this method, you will need to know your Delivery Method. In the example below, the application is being delivered via Cloudpaging.
- When you click on the “Delivery Methods” tab you will need to look up the information for that specific delivery method.
- Then click on the “Restrictions” tab.
In the example above there are no restrictions preventing application delivery. All application requirements have a green check mark. However, if one of the application requirements are not met, you will see a red X instead of a green check mark. In the example below, this user does not have access because they are required to be on-site in order to use the software:
- For more detailed information about operating system restrictions, click the “Operating Systems” tab. In the example below, the application is only available for Windows devices.

Can I request software to be listed on AppsAnywhere?

Are there any restrictions on the software that I get from AppsAnywhere?

Access to some resources may be on a term to term basis and sometimes there is a limit to the number of devices you can run the software on simultaneously. The more info button associated with each title listed on AppsAnywhere will reveal any specific restrictions.
AppsAnywhere is not validating/validation prompt not showing in browser - what should I do?
If AppsAnywhere is not validating and/or the validation prompt does not appear in your browser window try one or more of the following to resolve the issue:

- Whenever prompted, click “launch application” to allow validation on the device
- Clear your browser cache. If the problem persists:
- try Private/Incognito mode
- try using a different browser
- Disable antivirus software before visiting AppsAnywhere
- Make sure your device has the latest operating system updates
- Make sure the AppsAnywhere client is installed
- if not, install it
- if so, you can try reinstalling the app
Why is taking a long time for an application to launch when using the Cloudpaging Player?
Generally, Cloudpaged applications open at a similar speed to locally installed software. However, the first time that an application is launched it can take some time for the software to install. Larger applications can also take longer to install.
Where can I get help installing software?
Staff and students can book an online support session to get help installing software. Support sessions are conducted via MS Teams.
